Friday Night Magic Gatecrash Booster draft at 6pm

Friday Night Magic Gatecrash Booster draft at 6pm

Gatecrash Booster draft at 6pm $15

below is an explanation of Booster draft for anyone interested.

In a booster draft, players do not play a deck that they bring to the tournament. Players are instead seated into draft pods (typically eight players each). Each player is then given three booster packs (all players receive the same set of booster packs).

When the judge tells the players to begin, each player opens the first pack and chooses (drafts) one of the cards. The remaining cards are then passed to the player on the left until all the cards from the first pack have been drafted in this way. Players then receive 30 seconds to review the cards they have drafted before opening the second pack. Cards from the second pack are passed to the right. Once the second pack has been drafted players have one minute to review the cards they have drafted so far. Finally the third pack is drafted, passing to the left this time.

Players then have twenty minutes to construct a 40 card deck (including lands, which are provided by the organizer). Any cards not in a players deck are considered their sideboard. When sideboarding in booster draft, cards from the sideboard and deck do not need to be exchanged on a one for one basis, as long as the deck presented to the opponent contains at least 40 cards.

Call for prize Detail: Ask for Jessie :)

Friday Night Magic this week will feature 2 events. Gatecrash Booster draft at 6pm followed by Standard at 10PM.

The top eight playoff for most high level Sealed Deck tournaments are booster draft. After the Swiss rounds, the top eight players play in a single elimination booster draft to determine the final winner.

EN_GTC_InsideHeader_LEAGUEBEGINS

Join the Gatecrash League and experience the newest Magic: The Gathering set in an exciting format!

The top finishers at the end of the league will get an alternate art Soldier token!

Where Can I Join on February 1, 2013?

Gatecrash Leagues are happening at local stores all over the world! Check out our tournament locator to find a Gatecrash League near you. Contact your local store to confirm the event venue, start time and date.

What Happens There?

When you join the Gatecrash League, you will be given the opportunity to play with the newest cards in an on-going, five-week league. There will be prizes, and players can complete a league badge for fun and excitement.

The suggested format for the Gatecrash league is Sealed Deck — Each player receives six Gatecrash booster packs to use for building a deck. Please check with your local store to confirm the league format.

Over the course of the league, you will be able to add more boosters to your league deck.

Each participant should play three matches per week, for a total of fifteen over the course of the league. Players joining the Gatecrash League late can play extra matches to catch up to the current match cap of three times the current total of weeks of the league.

What Do I Get?

Each player will receive a league badge, and each week, if they play all three of their matches, they’ll be rewarded with a guild symbol sticker they can attach to their badge.

At the end of the league, there will be cool prizes including an alternate art Soldier token. Your local store may offer other prizes as well. Be sure to contact them to confirm the details of their league.
